TODDLER
What should my toddler drink?
-
Water is the best drink for your child. You can still carry on breastfeeding.
-
Your toddler can also drink whole cow's milk and full-fat dairy products.
-
1-2 yrs - Full fat milk
-
2-5 yrs - Semi-skimmed milk
-
>5 yrs - Skimmed milk
3. No sweet drinks (milkshakes, fruits juices, fizzy drinks). - fruits ideally should be eaten as a whole.

Can my toddler still use a bottle?
-
Stop using bottles with teats once your child reaches 1 year old.
-
Use an open cup or free-flow cup so that your toddler will learn how to sip rather than suck.
-
Using a cup is better for teeth too!

TIPS FOR TODDLER FEEDING
-
Give a variety of food from each food group. For example, if you serve your child fish for lunch, serve chicken for dinner
-
Avoid having your toddler skip meals. Your toddler needs to eat regular meals to ensure his/her body is energized throughout the day. Ideally, 3 main meals and 2 healthy snacks in between meals
-
Do not give snacks 1-2 hours before the main meal to avoid spoiling his/her appetite
-
Your child needs a small amount of fat/oil for growth and development
